For those who haven’t heard of Michelle Rhee, she has been shocking D.C. public schools with some radical – but effective – changes. Here’s part of her story and her tactics to turn around a failing school system:

Rhee will be at the DFER gathering on Wed. in DC: The Critical Need for School Reform and How to Achieve It. In this presentation, noted education reformer Whitney Tilson will discuss the history of school reform in the United States and why, as a nation and as a city, we must urgently support best practices that work in closing the achievement gap. In addition to national data, DC School Reform Now will be presenting and releasing a report on the achievement gap in DC.
